About the Author

Author Frank M. Sorrentino is a New York City local and an expert in his field of political science, constitutional law, history, philosophy and leadership after having taught these subjects for over forty years. He received his master’s degree and PhD in politics from New York University, and he received his bachelor’s degree in political science from St. John’s University. Dr. Sorrentino is the author of seven additional books, including Presidential Leadership and the Bureaucratic State, American Government: Power and Politics in America, Ideological Warfare: The FBI’s Path toward Power, Soviet Politics and Education, and The Review of Italian American Studies. He has also served as contributing editor to The Italian-American Encyclopedia and The Encyclopedia of the American Presidency. Dr. Sorrentino is currently working on a new book, Leadership in the Twenty-First Century.

Frank Sorrentino has served as Chairman of the Department of History, Political Science and Social Studies at St. Francis College where he has taught for over thirty years, and has been on faculties of New York University, Long Island University and Kean College. He has received the Distinguished faculty Award at St. Francis College and has been awarded an endowed scholarship in his honor for his outstanding teaching and scholarship. Dr. Sorrentino has also been honored for his excellence in teaching at New York University. In addition, he has received three Teaching Excellence Award granted by Pi Sigma Alpha, The National Political Science Honor Society.

In October 2001, Frank Sorrentino was honored as Italian-American of the Year by the Borough President of Brooklyn and received a Certificate of Achievement for his contributions to the Community. In 2004, the Student Government Association has awarded him Faculty Member of the Year. He received the Meucci Award from The Italian Historical Association for his lifetime contributions to Italian American causes. Dr. Sorrentino is a member of Who’s Who in America, 2005-2013, Who’s Who Among American Teachers, 2005-2013 and The Cambridge Who’s Who Among Executives, 2008-2013.
